Concerns and clarifications

I had a few questions regarding my attempt at satire in the lead-in to the Iowa ban on gay marriage article. Civil unions are a civil right - and I am now and will always be in support of same-sex marriage. I go to a church where the pastor is gay and they support and openly explore the issue of gay marriage within the church - not even just in the law. They have a float in each year's PRIDE parade.

I hope that clears things up, I'm crushed to think someone misunderstood me. Some of my most beloved friends and family members happen to be gay, and sometimes my frankness on the subject leads me to speak without thinking about the read for different audiences. My apologies to anyone who was offended. :-(
